The disadvantages of direct insurers is that
a) These insurers are extremely selective in the process. Most of their customers are via referrals from its own customers as well. This close web networking is a bad thing for others who are not very involved in other services. For example. USAA only offers its services to those people with connections to the armed forces.
b) If you are a high risk case, most probably, the insurer won’t select you to be their customer and would likely reject your application. A good thing though, is that because they are so selective, 95% of applicants are often accepted.
